Tech that revolves around your goals
Your technology should be… connected
Rystedt Advisory provides senior technology advisory and systems integration for operations-heavy, mid-market companies in construction, fleet and field operations, and engineering.
Rystedt Advisory maps how your tech systems work today and compares that against the goals you have for your business. We identify technology gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency, connect systems, and realize more return on your previous tech investments.
Are your current tech systems not working in unison?
Every technology system (both hardware and software) has a purpose. You probably purchased your existing systems to solve a particular problem or help your business achieve a particular target. But as tech systems accumulate they often work in isolation causing increased operational complexity and manhours to maintain.
We commonly work with companies who have project management, accounting, field apps, telematics, spreadsheets, and cloud storage all working independently.
This leads to data re-entry, errors, and operational slowdown.
Perhaps you have tried to implement AI to resolve issues but little of it reached production operations.
You do not need a full-time CTO to fix this. You need senior technology guidance who can see the whole operation, pick the changes that pay back, build them, and help you maintain them after launch.
Common Problems
- Data re-keyed between systems that could be integrated
- Vendors who only care about their product
- Software projects that haven't improved since they went live (or even got worse after go-live)
- AI experiments that never reached production
How it Works
We use a proven discovery process to learn your tech stack, identify areas of opportunity, and plot which pieces to improve in order to reach your company's goals.
We then help implement that plan utilizing resources from Rystedt Advisory and our trusted partners. After implementing we help maintain your technology to ensure that everything remains in orbit around your goals.
Phase 01
Discovery
A clear, prioritized plan you can act on.
Joshua maps your technology systems and how your team utilizes them. He watches for unrealized efficiency, automation opportunities, duplicate functionality, and more. Discovery is an advisory phase of an engagement with Rystedt Advisory. You'll receive a clear plan you can act on with or without us.
You receive
- A map of your systems and stack
- Opportunities in priority order
- Fixed-price implementation options
- An ROI and business case
- Recommendations on sequencing and who should own what
Discovery is advisory only. Small quick wins can happen along the way, always with your go-ahead.
Phase 02
Implement
Put improvements into action
The scope from Discovery gets built and put into daily use.
Implementation can include
- Custom development, including websites, web apps, and AI powered automations
- Rollout of software you already own or plan to buy
- Integrations and automations between your systems
- Training for the people who use it
- Technology recruiting
- Fractional CTO or technology leadership time
Phase 03
Maintain
Maintenance keeps your technology revolving around your goals.
We help keep your technology systems on track, implement continual improvements, and review against your goals every quarter. Joshua stays the point of contact the whole way.
Maintenance includes
- Fixes and keep-alive work for what we implemented
- Small improvements within scope
- Vendor and SaaS liaison, so your team stops chasing support tickets
- A quarterly roadmap review
- Business-hours coverage with next-business-day response
Maintenance is priced on value, not hours. Pricing for implementation and maintenance comes with your Discovery plan. Scale of implementation and maintenance is up to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does every engagement start with Discovery?
We begin every engagement with discovery because we want our technical implementations to be effective quickly and bring meaningful ROI to your business. This requires having a clear understanding of your goals and current technology. Discovery gives you a prioritized plan, fixed-price options, and a business case before implementation begins.
Can we hire you to build something without maintenance?
Not usually. Implementation and maintenance come together. Software changes, vendors update their products, and people find new needs. Maintenance keeps the solution we put into production working and useful. If you have a one-off project you think Joshua and his team would be a good fit for you may contact us and we'll evaluate on a case by case basis.
How is pricing handled?
Pricing depends on your company size and what Discovery finds. Discovery is priced based on company size. Implementation is a fixed fee dependent on the scope of work. Maintenance is priced on value, not hours, and covers fixes, small improvements, vendor liaison, and a quarterly roadmap review. If it looks like we may be a good fit, pricing is covered on the discovery call, and implementation and maintenance options come with your Discovery plan.
Do we need a CTO or IT team on our side?
No. Rystedt Advisory gives you senior technology leadership without a full-time hire. If you want to build a team later, technology recruiting can be part of implementation.
Will you make us replace the software we already use?
Not unless we need to recommend that and there is a clear operational benefit worth the cost. Most of the value sits in connecting and using what you already pay for. Discovery recommends a new tool only when it beats fixing the current one. All technical implementations are approved by your company and you don't need to use any software you don't want to use.
What happens after we apply?
We'll review your application. If you're a good fit to work with us we'll reply to set up a discovery call.
Our company is not your usual client but we still want to work with you if possible. Can we still contact you?
Yes. Email joshua@rystedtadvisory.com. Or apply to work with me.
